The Emir of Qatar visits Turkey after his visit to Iran

Istanbul, The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, will visit Turkey after his official visit to Iran.

The Turkish media had quoted a statement issued by the Qatari Amiri Diwan on Thursday night stating that the Emir of Qatar will go from Tehran directly to Turkey, without specifying the duration of the visit.

The Turkish media quoted the Turkish Ambassador to Doha, Mustafa Kokso, as saying that the visit of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Turkey, is very important for strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two countries, and that his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan comes in light of regional and international developments, "imposing coordination in many positions and files.

He added, "Al-Thani's visit to Turkey comes in light of the unique Turkish-Qatari relations and the great ambitions they hold and a common destiny," and that the visit will contribute to strengthening those relations and moving them forward towards broader horizons.

Turkish-Qatari relations are witnessing a growing development and continuous cooperation at various levels, with great political harmony and agreement in viewpoints on many regional and international issues, especially Middle East issues.

Relations at the military level between the two countries were strengthened in June 2017, when the military cooperation agreement entered into force after the Turkish parliament ratified it and approved it by President Erdogan.

Under the agreement, a Turkish military base was established in Qatar, and joint exercises were carried out. It also stipulated the formation of a mechanism to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the fields of military training, defense industries, joint exercises, and mutual stationing of forces between the two sides.
