The Coordinator of the National Disaster and Crisis Coordination Committee, Minister of Environment in the caretaker Lebanese government, Nasser Yassin announced that the number of displaced persons due to the Zionist aggression on Lebanon has reached 16,500 until last night. Yassin explained that the shelters in schools have reached 150 schools, in light of the daily increase in the number of displaced persons. It is noteworthy that Bassam Mawlawi, Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker Lebanese government, announced yesterday the opening of official schools and institutes to shelter the displaced from the southern regions, as a result of a series of violent and large-scale Zionist raids on southern Lebanon since this morning. Southern Lebanon was subjected yesterday to extensive Zionist attacks targeting border villages and infrastructure, which led to a large wave of displacement. While the Lebanese government seeks to provide shelter and necessary assistance to displaced families, ef forts continue in cooperation with local and international relief agencies, amid escalating Zionist bombing.
