President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed the importance of the role of scholars and mosque preachers in spreading the culture of moderation and presenting moderate visions and ideas in dealing between religions and Islamic sects.

A presidential statement stated: "The President received, today, Monday, September 23, 2024, at the Baghdad Palace, the head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan, Mishaan Al-Khazraji, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, he stressed the importance of the role of scholars and mosque preachers in spreading the culture of moderation and presenting moderate visions and ideas in dealing between religions and Islamic sects."

The President of the Republic pointed out the importance of confronting extremist ideas through moderate thought, which supports the meanings of tolerance and coexistence among all people.

He stressed the need to pay attention to shrines and religious centers in Iraq, and to give them attention and care in a way that reflects their historical and Islamic status and religious and sectarian diversity, and the importance of the process of rehabilitating mosques and buildings affiliated with the endowment and caring for them from all aspects.

For his part, the head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic for his support and keenness to strengthen national unity, stressing the endowment's endeavor to consolidate a state of harmony, peace and security in the country.
