The Saudi ambassador meets with a number of tribal sheikhs in Najaf

The Emirate of Bani Hassan in Najaf hosted the Saudi ambassador to Iraq, Abdul Aziz Al-Shammari, in a large tribal conference attended by an elite group of Iraqi sheikhs. The Saudi ambassador to Iraq delivered a speech to the attendees in which he appreciated the warm reception and hospitality, stressing the importance of the tribes in strengthening Arab identity and joint cooperation between their countries. In turn, MP Abdul Hadi Al-Hasnawi said, 'The goal of the conference is to strengthen Iraq's political position among its Arab depth and to strengthen Arab and national identity, as well as to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, since there is a common history that brings together the Iraqi tribes with the clans in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.' The conference emphasized the role of the Iraqi tribes in enhancing the stability of Iraq, unifying its word from north to south, and standing up to any challenges facing the country.
