The Turkish FM And His US Counterpart Discuss Possibility Of Shipping Grain From Ukrainian Ports Across Black Sea

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his American counterpart, Anthony Blinken, discussed regional files, including the initiative to ship grain from Ukrainian ports across the Black Sea.

Sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated today that the two ministers discussed, in a phone call, developments in the South Caucasus region, and the path of normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Fidan and Bliken also discussed the possibility of reviving the grain shipping initiative, security in the Black Sea, and the expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

On July 17, Russia refused to extend the Ukrainian grain export agreement, and said that it would "extend it if the Russian part of it is implemented."

Russian President Vladimir Putin had accused Western countries of not fulfilling the terms of the deal, despite the efforts of the United Nations.
