Moscow: At least three people were killed and 17 others injured on Tuesday in an attack by Ukrainian forces on the Russian capital, Moscow, and its surrounding region using drones.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated in a report that Ukraine launched the largest drone assault ever on Moscow and its vicinity, which resulted in the deaths of three workers at a meat warehouse and injured 17 others. The attack also led to the temporary closure of all four airports in the capital.
The Ministry highlighted that its air defense systems intercepted a total of 343 drones across Russia, including 91 over the Moscow region, 126 over the Kursk region, which is witnessing a withdrawal of Ukrainian forces, and additional drones near the Kursk nuclear power station.
The large-scale attack occurred just hours before a meeting between US officials and an Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia, aimed at exploring potential solutions to end the ongoing three-year war, while Russian forces attempt to encircle thousands of Ukrainian soldiers in the western Kursk region.
