Baghdad, The newspapers issued today, Tuesday, paid attention to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani's assertion that confronting corruption is the most important criteria for raising efficiency, and the Parliament session next Saturday to elect the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Al-Sabah newspaper said that the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, yesterday, Monday, sponsored the graduation ceremony of the first session of the Higher Institute for Preparing and Qualifying Leaders, one of the formations of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and witnessed the graduation of 48 general directors working in various government institutions. During the ceremony, Al-Sudani congratulated the participants on completing this course, stressing that the government is serious about its vision in the field of training and developing capabilities, in accordance with what is included in the government program. The Prime Minister explained that the institute was opened nine months ago, and today the first session is graduating, and at the same time, the second session has begun, pointing to the continuation of this program, which represents an important part of the government's plans to develop administrative work. Al-Sudani stressed the need for graduates in this course to reflect the reality of Iraq and the qualified leaders it possesses, as this will contribute to strengthening our relationship with international institutions, pointing out that the criterion for administrative success is the use of modern means, automation and technology, which will be reflected in the institution's performance and its ability to the provision of services. The Prime Minister stated that there are specialized committees that will follow up on the course outcomes, and the extent to which the lectures and training received are reflected, with the aim of change and construction, addressing the graduates by saying: We expect you to change the equation, so that the institution for which you work will succeed . He considered the administrative leaders an important tool for achieving construction and upgrading the institution, pointing out that what is required of the administrative leader is to research the method of reforming the institution without waiting for legislation. He added that the leader must be a role model in his performance, and bear responsibility for decisions, attributing the weakness of institutions today to the hesitation of some leaders, and administrative leaders must make thoughtful decisions. The Prime Minister continued that the role of leaders is important in overcoming the challenges facing the state, and enhancing confidence between institutions and citizens, stressing the necessity of developing employee competence, to improve the productivity provided. He pointed out that one of the most important criteria for raising efficiency is confronting corruption, and it is the responsibility of leaders to follow up on employees and ensure the integrity of procedures, indicating that we wo rked with limited funds that made a difference in services, infrastructure, and the work of institutions. Al-Zawraa newspaper, which is published by the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, focused on Saturday's session to elect the Speaker of the House of Representatives and said that the House of Representatives has set next Saturday as the date for electing its new speaker. The Media Department of the House of Representatives stated, in a statement: The Presidency of the House of Representatives decided to hold a session on Saturday, May 18, 2024, to elect the Speaker of the House of Representatives. For its part, Taqaddam Alliance stated in a statement: It is our belief in the importance of the supervisory and legislative role of the House of Representatives, and the necessity of activating this role within the system of political balance that political norms have followed during the past years, and in support of the democratic path of the state and the necessity of preserving the unity and stability of the na tion, and after a period of time has passed, for a long time, approximately 6 months, in the absence of political representation for a major component of the political process, and in view of the importance of preserving this entitlement, and after a series of extensive discussions and out of concern for Taqaddam Alliance as the representative of the Sunni majority in the House of Representatives, and after agreement with al-Sadarah parliamentary bloc, announcing support for the nomination of Dr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani to assume the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives. The Alliance called on the political blocs to support the nomination to resolve this entitlement to end the obstruction, activate the role of the House of Representatives, and complete the political agreement paper that the House of Representatives voted on within the government program and the legislation and laws it included that serve the people, achieve justice, and enhance the role of state institutions and the democratic s ystem.
