Tunisian President Extends State of Emergency until End of 2025

Tunis: Tunisian President Kais Saied extended the state of emergency across Tunisia from January 31, 2025, until December 31, 2025.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Tunisian TAP news agency reported that the last state of emergency extension was issued on December 30, 2024, declaring a monthlong state of emergency from January 1 to January 30, 2025.

The state of emergency in Tunisia was first declared on November 24, 2015, following a bomb attack on a bus carrying presidential guards. The attack resulted in the deaths of 12 security personnel and injured 16 others, including civilians and security personnel.
