Turkiye: Consumer Price Index Expected to Stabilize by End of 2024

Turkiye's Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek has expressed his expectations that the consumer price index (inflation) will be within the expected range at the end of this year at 38 percent, noting that the decline in inflation has become clear through the continuous decline since the past three months by 23.5 points to 52 percent, in addition to the monthly food inflation recording a negative rate for the first time in 4 years. This came in a comment on the Turkish Statistical Institute's announcement that annual inflation fell to 51.97 percent last August, its lowest level in 13 months. Turkiye's annual consumer price inflation declined for the third consecutive month, after recording 71.8 percent last June. Source: Qatar News Agency
