The General Authority of Civil Aviation in the Emirates announced the death of a crew member of the helicopter that fell into the sea.

The Authority stated in a statement that search and rescue operations are still underway to find the second missing pilot who was on board the AeroGulf helicopter that fell off the coast of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain during a night training flight yesterday, Thursday, that departed from Al Maktoum International Airport.

It indicated that the process of recovering the remaining parts of the plane is continuing, and that all procedures are being carried out according to best practices in cooperation with the competent authorities in search and rescue.

It affirmed its commitment to publishing updates on the incident as soon as they become available, calling on the public to obtain information from its official sources and to prevent rumors and false information.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation in the Emirates announced this morning that a Bell 212 helicopter, belonging to Aerogulf, bearing the registration mark A6-ALD, had fallen into the sea with two pilots of Egyptian and South African nationality on board, on a night training flight that took off from the Al Maktoum International airport”.
