UNRWA: health conditions in Gaza deteriorate severely

Cairo Inas Hamdan, the Acting Director of the Information Office at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza, has reported a severe and unprecedented deterioration in health conditions in the Gaza Strip, citing a total collapse of the healthcare system and the shutdown of hospitals. In an exclusive statement to Cairo News Company, as reported by the Middle East News Agency on Wednesday, Hamdan highlighted that high temperatures, the accumulation of tons of waste, and sewage surrounding displaced people in their tents have exacerbated diseases and epidemics to an unprecedented level. Hamdan called for the regular and sufficient entry of medicines, fuel, and food aid to address the escalating environmental disaster in Gaza. She also noted the ongoing displacement of Palestinians to the western area of Khan Yunis in the southern part of the Strip. Source: Bahrain News Agency
