UNRWA Warns of Imminent Famine in Gaza Strip Due to Blocked Aid

Gaza: The Gaza Strip is on the verge of an unprecedented famine with Israeli occupation rejecting relief organizations’ endeavors to bring essential supplies into the enclave, UNRWA said Wednesday. A statement from the UN agency warned the situation in Gaza is deteriorating as the occupation’s aggression on the Strip continues for the second week. Essential supplies are running low, and some will only be sufficient for a few more days unless shipments resume entering the Strip, the statement read.

According to Qatar News Agency, UNRWA spokesperson Adnan Abu Hasna highlighted a near-total collapse in all aspects of life in Gaza. He emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire and the entry of thousands of trucks of aid, considering that failure to do so would be a death sentence for the place, the infrastructure, and the people.
