Gaza: Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini has warned of the risks posed by the resumption of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation forces, describing it as a dangerous escalation that threatens dire consequences for the stability of the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a brief statement Tuesday, Lazzarini said, “Fuelling hell on earth by resuming the war will only bring more despair and suffering.” He added, “Awful scenes of civilians killed among them children following waves of heavy bombardment from Israeli forces overnight,” calling for a return to the ceasefire.
Earlier Tuesday, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on several areas in the Gaza Strip had risen to 412, with more than 500 injured, while an unknown number of victims remain under the rubble.
