Jerusalem: 60,000 Palestinians performed Isha and Taraweeh prayers Tuesday at Al Aqsa Mosque, despite strict military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on access to the mosque.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem estimated that 60,000 worshipers performed Isha and Taraweeh prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque on the 18th day of Ramadan, most of them residents of the Holy City or from within the 1948 territories.

The occupation authorities prevent thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank governorates from reaching Jerusalem to perform prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque.
