US Army Reveals Several Houthi Attacks in Red Sea

Washington: US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Tuesday that US forces destroyed a Houthi unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that was heading towards two US warships. CENTCOM added in a statement that the UAV was "on a flight path towards USS Philippine Sea and USS Laboon in the Red Sea." "There were no injuries or damages reported by US, coalition, or merchant vessels." it affirmed. On Monday, CENTCOM reported that the Houthis launched "three anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBM) and three UAVs from Yemen into the Red Sea towards MV Cyclades, a Malta-flagged, Greece-owned vessel." Since Jan. 12, US and UK forces launched several strikes on Houthi sites in Yemen. US army alone carries out strikes from time to time on missiles that it says are prepared for launch. Houthi attacks have greatly disrupted international maritime trade in the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. Source: Qatar News Agency
