Doha: US stocks ended Thursday trading lower, despite starting the day off with solid gains. The Standard and Poor's 500 index fell by 28.01 points, or 0.38 percent, to close at 7337.11 points.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Nasdaq Composite Index also fell by 32.747 points, or 0.13 percent, to close at 25,806.196 points. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a decrease of 313.34 points, or 0.64 percent, closing at 49,597.25.

The decline in major indices reflects a day of volatile trading, as investors reacted to various market factors. Despite an optimistic start, the market saw a downturn, leading to a negative close for the day.
