The X platform, previously Twitter, announced new changes that allow blocked users to see posts from accounts that have blocked them. Although blocked users will not be able to interact with these accounts with likes, replies or re-posts, they will now have access to the posts they publish publicly.
According to sources from within the company, these changes are in response to prohibited users creating alternative accounts to avoid blocking, interacting with the accounts that blocked them. The platform's owner Elon Musk, has long expressed a desire to abolish the platform's (blocking) feature, stating that it "makes no sense", and calling it a "limited impact feature".
Sources explained that the objective of the change was to give blocked users the ability to identify and report any harmful content they had previously been unable to see.
This change is expected to generate widespread debate among users; Some users see it as reducing the privacy of blocked users, while others see it as opening the door to more unwanted interactions.
