4.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Kastamonu Northern Turkiye

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale struck Kastamonu, northern Turkiye.

According to data published by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency of Turkey (AFAD) on Sunday, the earthquake occurred late last night at a depth of 11.83 km, and its epicenter was the Ihsangazi district.

A strong 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkiye and northern Syria on Feb. 6, followed by another 7.6-magnitude earthquake and thousands of powerful aftershocks that claimed tens of thousands of lives and damaged buildings and property.
