Gulf Games Doha 2026: Qatar’s Padel Team Triumphs Over Kuwait 2-1

Qatar: Qatar's national padel team achieved a victory against Kuwait, with a score of 2-1, during their second match at the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026, held at the Aspire Dome.

According to Qatar News Agency, in the first match, the Qatari duo of Mashari Nawaf and Rashed Nawaf secured a straight-sets victory against the Kuwaiti pair Yousef Saleh and Talal Al Qahtani, winning 6-2 and 6-0. In the subsequent match, Qatar's Mohammed Saadoun Al Kuwari and Hassan Walialso also claimed victory in straight sets against Kuwait's Abdulrahman Alawadhi and Fouad Behbehani, with scores of 7-6 and 6-1.

However, the third match witnessed a win for the Kuwaiti duo of Ahmed Rabie and Hamoud Aljenaidel, who defeated Qatar's Mohammed Al Khanji and Rayan Aljufairi, with scores of 6-4 and 7-6.

Qatar's win against Kuwait signifies the second consecutive victory for Qatar's padel team in the tournament, following a previous 3-0 win over Saudi Arabia. Khalid Al Khelaifi, a board member of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation, commented on the high technical level of the padel competitions at the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency, Al Khelaifi acknowledged the continuous improvement and increasing competitiveness of Gulf national teams. He expressed satisfaction with the Qatari team's consistent performance, while also commending the Kuwaiti team's strong efforts.

Qatari player Mohammed Saadoun Al Kuwari shared his joy over the victory, highlighting the team spirit and his teammates' contributions during the matches against Kuwait and previously against Saudi Arabia. Al Kuwari emphasized the team's commitment to giving their best in the upcoming matches against Bahrain and the UAE, aiming for a podium finish.
