Doha: An earthquake measuring 4.4 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Tuesday Fiji Islands in the South Pacific. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the quake occurred 270 km east of Levuka, at a depth of 531.1 km.
According to Qatar News Agency, there have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake. Fiji Islands are located in an area called the Ring of Fire in the Pacific Ocean, which is exposed from time to time to many aftershocks and earthquakes that may be strong.
