4.9-Magnitude Quake Hits Southwestern Tunisia

A 4.9-magnitude earthquake hit the city of Tozeur, southwest of Tunisia.

In a statement on Tuesday, the National Institute of Meteorology in Tunisia stated that the preliminary data determined the epicenter of the earthquake at 34.20 latitude and 7.91 longitude.

There have been no reports so far of human or material losses as a result of the earthquake.

On Monday, seismic stations recorded a 4.3-magnitude earthquake near the Qasr Al Ghariani area of Tataouine Governorate, in the far south of Tunisia, without any losses reported. (QNA)
