Doha: An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Thursday the US State of Alaska.
According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake occurred about 99 kilometers southeast of Adak area, at a depth of 35 kilometers.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or material losses.
Alaska is located above the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area where tectonic plates meet, and their friction with each other leads to strong seismic and volcanic activity.
