An earthquake measuring 6.1 magnitude on the Richter scale hit off Taiwan's east coast on Friday morning. The tremor struck at a depth of 15.4 km near Hualien, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). Local Authorities have not reported causalities or damage caused by the earthquake so far. Taiwan experiences frequent earthquakes due to its location between two tectonic plates. The last major one occurred in early April, when it was hit by a deadly 7.4-magnitude tremor that officials said was the strongest in 25 years. Source : Qatar News Agency
