The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency announced today, Sunday, the dismantling of a network of ISIS terrorist elements, while arresting its members in Kirkuk Governorate. A statement by the intelligence stated that "the intelligence agency's detachments specialized in combating terrorism in Kirkuk Governorate monitored intelligence information indicating the presence of a network of ISIS terrorist gang elements consisting of three suspects present inside the governorate." It added that "a specialized intelligence team was formed by Kirkuk Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Directorate in cooperation with the Falcons Intelligence Cell and intensified the intelligence effort, as the detachments were able to determine their locations and arrest all members of the network." The statement added, "When they were investigated, they explicitly confessed to having carried out several terrorist acts in the province at an earlier time, including the assassination of members of the security services," noti ng that "their statements were confirmed judicially and they were referred to the judicial authorities to receive their just punishment."
