AFC Challenge League: Kuwait SC Triumph Over Kyrgyz Republic’s Muras United to Secure Final Spot

Kuwait city: Kuwait SC staged a comeback to secure a 2-1 victory against Kyrgyz Republic's FC Muras United in Bishkek, advancing to the AFC Challenge League 2025/26 final against Cambodia's Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC.

According to Qatar News Agency, Amir Zhaparov initially put Muras United ahead in the 36th minute with a precise free-kick. However, Kuwait SC responded with goals from Mohamed Marhoon and Mehdi Barrahma, ensuring their progression to the competition's final next month.

Amro Abdelfatah proved to be pivotal for Kuwait SC, creating an early scoring opportunity with a cross, although Mehdi Barrahma's header missed the target. Abdelfatah continued to be influential, despite missing a shot in the 26th minute. Meanwhile, Muras United's Nursultan Toktonaliev also missed an attempt soon after.

Despite being under pressure for much of the first half, Muras United managed to break the deadlock through Zhaparov's expertly taken free-kick. Kuwait SC goalkeeper Khaled Al Rashidi made a crucial save just before halftime to keep his team in the game.

In stoppage time, Marhoon equalized for Kuwait SC, converting Abdelfatah's cross. Shortly after the break, Barrahma capitalized on another Abdelfatah assist to give Kuwait SC the lead.

Abdelfatah nearly extended the lead with a solo effort, but the shot rebounded off the post. Kuwait SC maintained their advantage to secure their place in the final, where they will face Svay Rieng on May 13.
