Doha: The captain of Al Duhail handball team, Ahmed Maddi, expressed his happiness by defeating Al Ahli Sidab of Oman on Wednesday, within Group B of the 27th Asian Men's Club League Handball Championship held in Doha, which qualifies for the 2025 IHF World Men's Handball Championship. According to Qatar News Agency, Maddi highlighted that winning the opening match was very important to maintain the lines of qualification for the upcoming league and steadfastly advance toward the title. He highlighted that Al Duhail succeeded in performing well due to the thorough pre-match preparations, where the team had carefully studied the Omani team's tactics from their first meeting. Subsequently, they devised a brilliant strategy to claim the first two points. He also emphasized that his team had previously won the title and was eager to reclaim it once again. Maddi underlined his confidence in the capabilities of his team to contend for the title, noting that they are not intimidated by the challenges posed by the current championship, as all matchups will be tough. He emphasized that Al Duhail possesses the necessary expertise to handle difficult matches. Al Duhail is on track and will be ready for their next match against Kazma of Kuwait on Thursday, which will be their second game in Group B.
