The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, called on Austrian companies to invest in Iraq and examining the possibility of resuming direct flights. A statement from his media office said that Al-Mandalawi received today the Ambassador of Austria to Iraq, Andrea Nasi, and discussed with him a number of topics of mutual interest. The statement added that during the meeting, developments in the local scene and the challenges facing the region and the world were discussed, and the need to develop Iraqi-Austrian relations in all fields was emphasized, in addition to discussing the possibility of resuming direct flights between the two countries, inviting Austrian companies to invest in Iraq, and agreeing on establishing a Parliamentary Friendship Committee.
