The candidate for the position of Parliament Speaker, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, denied reports of his desire to dissolve the House of Representatives if he is elected to the presidency of Parliament. Al-Mashhadani said, in a statement, that the most truthful one who disbelieves these rumors is the Iraqi constitution, which clearly defines the legal procedures for dissolving Parliament, which requires a vote by an absolute majority of the number of members of Parliament, based on a request from a third of the members or based on the request of the Prime Minister and the approval of the President of the Republic.
