Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday with HE President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame and his accompanying delegation. Their discussions highlighted the strong bilateral relations between Qatar and Rwanda, focusing on areas of mutual interest and cooperation.
According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir also issued several significant decisions on Wednesday. These included the Amir Decision No. 5 of 2025, which reformed the Board of Directors of the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (Daam), and Amiri Decision No. 6 of 2025, restructuring the board of directors of Qatar Development Bank (QDB). In addition, HH the Amir issued Decree No. 12 of 2025 appointing HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al-Thani as Deputy Governor of the Qatar Central Bank (QCB).
The State of Qatar, following the directives of HH the Amir, announced the commencement of supplying the Gaza Strip with 15 million liters of fuel, which raises the total Qatari fuel support to 30 million liters. This initiative underscores Qatar’s commitment to supporting the region through substantial fuel contributions.
HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani hosted the heads of delegations participating in the 51st meeting of the UN Tourism Regional Commission for the Middle East at the Amiri Diwan. He also chaired the regular Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, HE President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame concluded his working visit to Qatar and departed Doha on Wednesday. The visit was marked by fruitful discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
In other diplomatic activities, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi took part in the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai. Additionally, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi received a copy of the credentials of HE Ambassador of the Republic of Chad to Qatar, Tchonai Elimi Hassan.
Engagements on international stages continued as HE Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani met with key officials at the UN headquarters in New York. Furthermore, Qatar’s Permanent Mission to the UN, along with the Qatar Fund For Development, deposited a $10 million Contribution Agreement to support the Doha Programme of Action (2023-2031).
HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy, Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, engaged in separate meetings with energy ministers from India, Sudan, and Bangladesh, and led cooperation talks with major Indian energy companies during the India Energy Week 2025 in New Delhi.
On the diplomatic front, HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad held a meeting with HE Ambassador of the Netherlands to Qatar, Ferdinand Lahnstein. Additionally, HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi met with HE French President’s Africa Advisor Jeremie Robert in Paris.
