Bethlehem - Ma'an - President of the World Economic Forum, Buerge Brande, said today, Saturday, that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and a number of international officials will visit Riyadh this week to hold talks aimed at pushing towards reaching a peace agreement in Gaza on the sidelines of the forum's meeting. Brenda indicated during a press conference in Riyadh that the main players are currently in the city, expressing his hope that the discussions will result in a process leading to reconciliation and peace. He also stressed that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza would be part of the agenda. Brenda stated that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will attend the meetings alongside senior officials in the region, including the Qatari Prime Minister, the Saudi Foreign Minister, the Crown Prince of the Sultanate of Oman, and Bahraini officials. Brenda reported that Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will be there to brief officials on the round of talks held by Egyptian negotiators in Israel y esterday, Friday, in an attempt to resume faltering efforts aimed at ending the Israeli war on Gaza and returning the remaining Israeli prisoners.
