Dubai, The Labour Fund "Tamkeen" inaugurated yesterday the Kingdom of Bahrain's pavilion at GITEX Global in partnership with the Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). This year's edition hosts 16 Bahraini start-ups and SMEs in the field of Information and Communications Technology. The exhibition provides an opportunity for tech entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative products and services to a global audience of over 100,000 participants and visitors. The exhibition attracts a broad audience, including executives, government officials, tech specialists, entrepreneurs, academics, and technology enthusiasts. GITEX creates opportunities to connect with new customers, establish regional and international partnerships, enter new markets, and engage with leading tech experts and representatives from global technology companies. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, emphasised the fund's dedication to supporting Bahraini enterprises in the ICT sector due to the vital role it plays in national economy. "Tamkeen supports the Kingdom's Pavilion at GITEX annually with the aim of helping Bahraini enterprises unlock opportunities, access new customers, connect with potential partners and investors, and share expertise with global specialists. This enhances their ability to expand, grow, explore new markets, and secure business deals that strengthen their sustainability and development. The positive effects on the local market include creating new job opportunities for Bahraini talent, boosting productivity, and increasing their contribution to the national economy". Tamkeen's support for Bahraini enterprises to participate in GITEX aligns with its strategic priorities for 2024 under three pillars: increasing economic participation through employment opportunities for new market entrants, expanding career development opportunities available to the Bahraini workforce, and further developing the private sector by supporting enterprises and boosting pro ductivity through the adoption of technology. Philip Marnick, TRA General Director, highlighted the importance of TRA's participation in GITEX Global 2024, saying, "The Kingdom of Bahrain's pro-innovation and pro-competitive regulatory ecosystem supports companies wishing to develop and deploy new applications. The TRA participation in GITEX allows us to showcase how regulation can facilitate innovation, enhance Bahrain's digital business environment and support the Kingdom's vision." GITEX Global 2024 is the largest technology exhibition in the region, bringing together leading global companies in technology and innovation, as well as professionals and enthusiasts in the sector.
