BIPD Chairman urges overseas students to adhere to national values, highlight Bahrain’s bright image

Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, Board of Trustees Chairman of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), has affirmed the interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in supporting Bahraini youth, being the nation’s assets of the future, and given the effective role they play in enhancing the comprehensive development process witnessed by the kingdom during HM the King’s prosperous era.

Al-Romaihi was speaking while receiving the members of the “Ambassadors of the Nation” Programme, organised by BIPD for the eighth straight year, with the participation of the Crown Prince International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) and the recipients of the Education Ministry’s scholarships.

Addressing the attendees, Al-Romaihi highlighted the efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to prepare distinguished highly-qualified generations of Bahrainis who are capable of leading national action competently.

He stressed that overseas students reflect the kingdom’s bright image in the host countries, namely its national culture which is based on Islamic values, as well as on authentic Arab traditions and customs.

They will also carry a message that reflects the kingdom’s wide-ranging achievements attained thanks to HM King Hamad’s enlightened vision, based on human rights respect, within an advanced legislative and legal system to achieve the aspirations of the nation and its citizens.

He added that having sufficient awareness and knowledge of the kingdom’s rich history and achievements across various development fields will enable overseas students to highlight its prestigious status and contributions to safeguarding global security and peace, based on the Bahraini society’s culture, which is based in coexistence, peace, tolerance and acceptance of the other, in addition to the freedom of opinion, thought and creativity.

BIPD Chairman called on overseas students to adhere to Arab values and traditions and set the example in abiding by the laws and regulations in force in host countries so as to be the best ambassadors of their country and society, urging them to acquire knowledge and enhance their academic achievements in order to be able to serve the homeland.

The ‘Ambassadors of the Nation’ programme, which targeted students wishing to study abroad, is in line with the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism ‘Bahrainuna’. It focuses mainly on the achievements of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s comprehensive development project in the development, political, economic, social and cultural fields, among others.

The programme seeks to educate overseas students about the most important topics related to the Kingdom, promote national identity and the values of loyalty and belonging. It also aims to raise the participants’ awareness of the political, media, legal and human rights aspects, which contributes to confirming their role as representatives of the kingdom abroad.
