Civil Defense Member Killed in New Israeli Attacks in Southern Lebanon

Beirut: The Israeli occupation army continued its attacks on southern Lebanon on Friday, in violation of the ceasefire, amid a field escalation that included airstrikes and artillery shelling targeting several southern areas.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that a Civil Defense member was killed after an Israeli drone struck a car on the road between the towns of Kfar Shouba and Kfar Hamam. This came alongside an Israeli airstrike on the town of Jmeijmeh.

The outskirts of Mansouri and Beit Siyad, extending to Mansouri-Hamra coastal area, were also subjected to Israeli artillery shelling in the hills of Bayada, south of Tyre.

In a related development, an Israeli force supported by military vehicles attempted at dawn to advance toward Beit Siyad area opposite Bayada, coinciding with heavy artillery shelling targeting the vicinity of Buyout Al-Siyad, Al Mansouri, and Majdal Zoun, while Israeli helicopters conducted reconnaissance operations in the area.

In the town of Khiam, heavy bombardment was reported inside the town, while warplanes carried out an airstrike on Sajd Heights.

The Israeli entity continues its attacks on southern Lebanon in violation of the ceasefire that began on April 16 for ten days, before being extended for three weeks starting April 23.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated on Friday that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on Lebanon has risen to 2,727, with 8,438 wounded.
