Doha: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs' crescent moon sighting committee announced that Thursday, March 19, will be the 30th and final day of the holy month of Ramadan, with Eid Al Fitr starting Friday.
According to Qatar News Agency, this announcement came in the Committee's statement following its meeting at the Ministry's headquarters on Wednesday evening, which corresponds to Ramadan 29, 1447 H. The statement clarified that the crescent moon of the new month of Shawwal was not sighted that evening, leading to the conclusion that the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the State of Qatar will be on Friday, March 20, 2026.
The Committee extended its greetings to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, and HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani. They also conveyed their greetings to the government of Qatar, the Qatari people, and Muslims worldwide on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
