Demonstrations In Najaf, Diwaniyah, Basra, and Wasit To Demand An Amendment To The Salary Scale

Hundreds demonstrated in Sadrin Square in Najaf, to demand an amendment to the salary scale.

Also today, hundreds of employees in Diwaniyah governorate demonstrated to demand an amendment to the salary scale.

The demonstrators, who gathered in front of the governorate building in the city center of Diwaniyah, stressed the importance of amend the salary scale and reducing the differences between employees in the ministries.

While in Basra, hundreds of employees demonstrated to demand an amendment to the salary scale.

The demonstrators stressed the importance of reducing financial differences between government ministries and applying the principle of justice for all, and fairness to ministries with low salaries.

In Wasit governorate, hundreds of employees also demonstrated to demand a vote on the new salary scale law.

Ali Abd Mowai, one of the protesters, told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), during this demonstration, "we called for fairness for all employees and providing them with a decent life through the adoption of the new salary scale law with the aim of fairness to all employees and finding equality between their salaries.

He added that some employees threatened a general strike if they did not vote on this law.
