Deputy Head of Qatari Hajj Mission to QNA: Technology Harnessed to Facilitate Qatari Pilgrims’ Performance of Hajj

Deputy Head of the Qatari Hajj Mission Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri affirmed the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs' keenness to harness modern technology with its various techniques in assisting the pilgrims of the State of Qatar and facilitating their performance of e Hajj.

In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency , Al Misifri said that a smartphone App called "Hajj Guide" has been prepared and it can be downloaded, explaining that the application includes pilgrims' permits issued by the Saudi electronic track, a set of Hajj fatwas, the sites of the Qatari Hajj campaigns, and means of communication with the Communication and Support Unit Center at Qatar Hajj Mission to request assistance when needed.

Deputy Head of the Qatari Hajj Mission indicated that preparations of the camps in the holy sites have been completed, and that they will be handed over by the company responsible for the equipment within three days, stressing their full readiness to accommodate the pilgrims, as the camps will be distributed to the campaigns in the coming hours.

Regarding the arrival of the pilgrims from the State of Qatar, he explained that the first batch will arrive in the Holy site on the 3rd of Dhu al-Hijjah.

He also noted the efforts of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and the concerned authorities in providing facilities and providing all the needs of the Qatari Hajj mission and campaigns, as well as the keenness of all parties to implement a successful Hajj season and a wonderful spiritual experience for all visitors to the Holy site.

The Deputy Head of the Qatari Hajj Mission underlined that there is a full coordination between the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, the Qatari Hajj mission and Hajj campaigns, to organize work and agree on all points related to preparations and procedures. He added that there are also continuous meetings for cooperation, providing all needs, facilitating procedures and overcoming any difficulties, indicating that the ministry has allocated phone numbers for communication and a 24/7 hotline to receive any call by pilgrims and campaign owners or their affiliates.

He also hailed the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs' keenness to implement an electronic system to evaluate the services provided to pilgrims, expressing hope that there would be interaction with the evaluation to find out what progress has been made in the level of services provided by the mission and campaigns for pilgrims in the holy sites and to work on developing them continuously, as the mission is keen to continue developing services through holding meetings and communicating with the GCC missions for consultation and exchanging experiences in the level of services provided and benefiting from them, in order to maximize the benefit of the pilgrims of the State of Qatar from the services.
