Efforts of The Joint Rainfall Emergency Committee in all Municipalities

The Joint Rainfall Emergency Committee, represented by several authorities including the Ministry of Municipality and Environment together with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), invested intensive efforts to remove rainwater pooling resulting from the rain that fell on the State recently.

As of Friday, December 31st 2021, and till 6 pm of Monday, January 3rd 2022, the total amount of rainwater that has been dewatered and transported in all regions of the State reached 43 million 599 thousand and 079 gallons of water.

While the number of personnel in the participating teams reached (676) employees and workers, In the process, the participating authorities applied the latest dewatering mechanisms using (496) modern pumps. Also, (726) rainfall water removal requests were received through the hotline and transferred to the concerned authorities for execution, and all the requests were fulfilled immediately. The rainfall emergency teams pursued the removal and suction operations for 140 continuous hours with no rest, until they have succeeded in covering all work areas and executed the required works.
