Beit Jala: A recently-freed Palestinian prisoner succumbed to injuries Tuesday in Beit Jala, the occupied West Bank.

According to Qatar News Agency, medical sources said Kazem Zawahreh, who sustained grave injuries from Israeli forces’ gunfire in February 2024, was comatose when he was handed over by the Israeli army on February 27.

He was released in a prisoner swap under the Gaza ceasefire deal.
