The General Authority of Customs (GAC) has stated that the online Al Nadeeb Clearance System had completed 3.333.330 customs declarations during 2020, pointing out that exceptional customs facilities have been provided in handling the shipments of Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines.
During 2020 and in the light of the Coronavirus pandemic, GAC had managed to make a number of achievements at the administrative and field levels that included developing and enhancing human, technical and procedural aspects. This also included increasing the level of coordination and collaboration between GAC and various entities inside and outside the State.
GAC also noted that the Ministry of Municipality and Environment is the best government entity in the time of customs clearance.
GAC also noted that it is continuing to support the national economy by facilitating customs procedures and speeding up importation and exportation processes. This is through the implementation of the Amiri decision on the exemption of 905 food items and medical supplies from customs duties for 9 months after announcing it as part of the statement by the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management.
