Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi has welcomed the announcement by US President Donald Trump of a ceasefire in Lebanon. In a statement issued on Thursday, Al Budaiwi reaffirmed the GCC's firm support for Lebanon, stressing its commitment to the country's sovereignty, security, and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Budaiwi expressed support for the decisions of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and the Lebanese government aimed at achieving security, peace, prosperity, and development for the Lebanese people.
