Doha: Germany, France, and the United Kingdom called for an immediate return to a ceasefire in Gaza. In a joint statement issued by their foreign ministers, the three countries urged Israel to allow humanitarian aid into the besieged Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, Germany, France, and the UK urged Israel to restore humanitarian access to Gaza, including water, electricity, and medical care, while ensuring temporary medical evacuations in line with international humanitarian law. They described the renewed Israeli airstrikes as a setback for the people of Gaza, expressing horror over the civilian casualties and emphasizing the urgent need to reinstate the ceasefire.
The ministers emphasized that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict cannot be resolved through military means and that a lasting ceasefire is the only viable path to peace. They also expressed shock over the bombing of the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Gaza, which resulted in the death of a staff member, and called for an investigation into the incident.
