Doha: The General Tax Authority (GTA) has announced an extension of the deadline for submitting the tax return for the 2025 tax year until June 30, 2026.
According to Qatar News Agency, this step aims to support taxpayers and enhance tax compliance by providing additional time to fulfill their obligations, as stated by the GTA on Wednesday. The Authority has urged all companies and entities with a commercial registration, trade license, or home license, including tax-exempt entities, that have not yet filed their tax returns, to do so within the specified period through the Dhareeba Tax Portal. This is to ensure business continuity and avoid penalties.
This extension is applicable to all entities and individuals subject to the provisions of the Income Tax Law No. (24) of 2018 and its amendments. This includes tax-exempt companies, companies owned by Qatari or GCC nationals residing in the State, as well as private associations and institutions, such as charitable and public benefit organizations established under applicable regulations.
However, the extension does not apply to companies in the petroleum and petrochemical sectors, which must submit their tax returns by April 30, 2026. The decision to extend the deadline is part of the GTA's commitment to empower taxpayers and simplify procedures, fostering a more enabling business environment.
To assist taxpayers, the Authority offers multiple support channels, including a call center at (16565) and email, to facilitate the submission of tax returns and address inquiries, ensuring compliance with the specified deadlines.
