The legal community at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) organized the first edition of the International Conference for Environment, Energy and Sustainability under the title "Green Mirror: A Look at Our Sustainable Future" in cooperation European Law Students’ Association (ELSA Padova) at the University of Pavoda, Italy.

The two-day video conference covered new ideas and insights on environmental laws and policies in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. This international conference provided law students with an opportunity to engage in discussions on legal, political and social implications, and to share their research with legal scholars and specialized experts from leading universities.

The panel discussion entitled “Innovations in Sustainable Law and Governance” included contributions that included graduate students and young practitioners from HBKU and many international universities, while other dialogue sessions dealt with other topics such as: investment, labor, sustainability in Qatar and Italy.
