His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, has stressed that Bahrain's hosting of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) places the Kingdom on the map of global Paralympic sports map, and reflects international confidence in its ability to host major sporting events.
HH Shaikh Nasser was speaking while receiving here today Andrew Parsons, IPC President, in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President.
HH Shaikh Nasser commended the efforts exerted by the IPC to promote Paralympic sports across various countries, including Bahrain.
His Highness praised IPC's confidence in Bahrain by granting it the right to host its General Assembly, which reflects the kingdom's support for people with determination, wishing IPC a successful General Assembly.
IPC chief expressed thanks and appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser for the warm welcome and hospitality.
He also expressed pleasure at Bahrain's hosting of IPC General Assembly, paying tribute to the Bahrain Paralympic Committee for its efforts in this regard.
