Head of the Center for Political Thinking and Professor of Public Policy at the University of Baghdad, Ihsan Al-Shammari, revealed the results and outcomes of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani's visit to Washington. Al-Shammari said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): Iraq is moving towards concluding a long-term security agreement with the United States of America, and this is something that some politicians reject, pointing out that the visit did not achieve the ambition of the Prime Minister's partners, due to their desire for the visit to be a translation of the agreements. The political goal of the complete withdrawal of American forces from Iraq from within Iraq, and this is something that has not been achieved at all. Al-Shammari explained that the visit did not witness the conclusion of official agreements regarding the relationship between the governments of Iraq and Washington in the future, but rather the announcement of intentions was only, and this matter was far from the broader goal of the visit, which is to transfer the form of the relationship between Iraq and the United States to another level in accordance with the strategic framework agreement. He stated that the visit witnessed the conclusion of agreements with American companies in several fields, which is credited to the government and the private sector.
