ISESCO Calls for Utilizing Modern Technology to Develop Health Sector in Islamic Countries

The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) called for the need to take advantage of modern technology to develop the health sector in Islamic countries in order to anticipate diseases and find a cure for them, and to prevent infectious diseases.

In a statement on the occasion of World Health Day, which falls on April 7 every year, the ICESCO said that it is committed to developing programs and activities that contribute to improving the health sector in the Islamic countries, stressing its endeavors to bolster the member states' efforts to implement comprehensive health coverage policies and raise awareness of the elements of hygiene and health education, by launching programs to establish federations for health care that include research centers and institutes specialized in the field of health in a number of Member States, as well as scientific networks and training courses for the benefit of workers in the field.

The organization called on governments, international and regional organizations and individuals to innovate in the field of health, utilize modern technology applications, increase investment in entrepreneurship in the field of health and encourage related scientific research in order to provide comprehensive health care for all.
