Kim Jong Un: We will prevent the United States from interfering in the conflict with South Korea

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un stated that his country possesses sufficient military power to deter the United States of America from military intervention in the event of a crisis on the Korean Peninsula, and in the first phase of the conflict, North Korea will destroy the main offensive forces and infrastructure. Kim Jong Un's statement came during his visit to the North Korean National Defense Academy, yesterday, Tuesday, which is celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of its founding, according to North Korean Central News Agency. Kim Jong Un said: 'Our armed forces possess real military power capable of deterring the United States from military intervention in the event of a crisis on the Korean Peninsula, and possess overwhelming power capable of destroying the main offensive forces, infrastructure and command systems of the South Korean army in the first phase of the operation.' He pointed to the "dangerous situation" regarding state secur ity and the path of "radical modernization" of the defense industry, and the "recklessness" of the provocative military and political hysteria of the United States and its allies. Kim Jong Un called for "strengthening the strength of the country's armed forces to the maximum extent without hesitation," noting, saying: The ultimate goal is to have the most powerful strategic force in the world and unprecedented power to reliably protect the dignity and sovereignty of the North Korean state. He continued, "The current situation requires comprehensively strengthening the military deterrence force, and constantly increasing the strength of the North Korean armed forces," according to what was reported by the North's Korean Central News Agency. Kim Jong Un also congratulated the academy's scientists, technicians, workers and administrative staff, who contributed to "strengthening the strength and dignity" of North Korea and became a "reliable foundation" for the North Korean military's capability, he said. Ear lier, North Korea denounced the mention of the issue of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, during a rare tripartite summit held in Seoul, between the leaders of South Korea, Japan and China.
