Lebanese Health Ministry intends to evacuate hospitals in the southern suburb of Beirut due to heavy shelling

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced its intention to evacuate hospitals in the southern suburb of Beirut, due to the unprecedented raids that the suburb has not witnessed since July 2006. The Ministry said, in a statement, that it calls on hospitals in Beirut, Mount Lebanon and areas not affected by the Israeli aggression to stop receiving non-emergency cases until the end of next week. The Ministry attributed this call to making room for receiving patients in hospitals in the southern suburb of Beirut, which will be evacuated due to developments in the aggression. The Ministry called on hospitals and health centers to prepare to care for patients displaced during the past night from the southern suburb. At dawn on Saturday, Israeli warplanes launched a series of violent and successive raids on buildings in various areas of the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
