Mada Center Launches a New Application for Qatari Currency Reader

The Assistive Technology Center (Mada) has launched through the Mada Innovation Program, in partnership with the Qatar Central Bank, the new version of the Qatari currency reader application on smart phones.

The launch of the new version of the application comes as one of the applications in which Mada Center invests, in order to help people with visual impairments and the elderly to read and verify the coins they have when purchasing, to be a new addition in the world of independent living for people with disabilities and the elderly.

The Qatari currency reader application is the first of its kind in the State of Qatar that combines the capabilities of modern technology and the needs of people with visual disabilities and the elderly, as it works with smart algorithms that combine the capabilities contained in the phone and the database registered in the program to read the value of banknotes audio in both languages Arabic and English, to make a qualitative leap in the world of digital inclusion. The application is on Apple Store and Google Play.
