Magnitude 4.9 Earthquake Strikes Northern Greece

Karya: An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck on Thursday in northern Greece, causing significant damage to buildings on Mount Athos. The quake occurred 11 kilometers northwest of the city of Karya, at a depth of 10.6 kilometers, leading to extensive damage to homes scattered across the mountain.

According to Qatar News Agency, some residents reported that the earthquake was prolonged and accompanied by a loud rumbling noise in coastal areas.
